Most of what you learn fishing these waters is trial and error - or so it seems. When you have boat trouble, no one is going to come hold your hand through the process or give you a tow to the nearest mechanic. I have an overwhelming respect for the time that each one of these men have put into their trade. This is not something that you learn overnight. Countless hours spent sweating over a motor that will, someday, outlive it's caretaker. A game of patience in the eyes of the observer. Most days are devoid of sleep. Something that can easily be taken for granted from the comfort of your own home. Limitless contact to the outside world has overshadowed the value of self sustainability. Now, as humans are a dying breed, so too is the incentive to live.
